22.07.2008 - Powell sees off Bolt in Stockholm

Asafa Powell beat Usain Bolt in the battle of the world's fastest men at the IAAF Super Grand Prix meeting at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm.
Former world record holder Powell eased home in a time of 9.88 seconds, one-hundredth of a second ahead of Bolt.

Jamaican Powell was quickest out the blocks but had to hold off a late charge from his young compatriot, the current 100m world record holder.

place went to promising Norwegian sprinter Jaysuma Saidy Ndure in 10.06.
It was Powell's third straight win at the Olympic Stadium and a personal best for the season.
It was also some measure for the 25-year-old of revenge after losing to his close friend Bolt, 21, at Jamaica's Olympic trials last month.
"I was really happy with the race," said Powell.
"My goal was to win. My start was quick and fast. And the speed stayed with me through the finish.
"I'm really looking forward to the Olympics."
Bolt set the world record of 9.72 in New York on 31 May, breaking Powell's mark of 9.74.
The two will be at Crystal Palace this week, along with Tyson Gay, in what is likely to be their last outings before Beijing.
