A facility for mothers with children is to be extended, too. The government earmarked 260 million crowns for prison infrastructure. Statistical data show that prisoners who had a job were less likely to become repeat criminals. The money prisoners earn in their jobs can by used to pay the damage incurred by their criminal activities. The ministry also plans to increase the number of the Prison Service employees by 337 to 11,144 in 2009. ($1=15.775 crowns)
